Taking care of you after you took care of us
Careers Well Cared For
We salute our veterans and active military members with careers that leverage the skills and unique experience they gained while serving our country. Our organization fully supports service members transitioning from active duty to civilian life with opportunities within the workforce that care for the very lives they fought to protect. With job search training, veteran-friendly transition programs, health and wellness services, MOS code job search and other supportive resources it’s even easier for veterans and active service members to find careers with us.
In reward of your dedication
We have a number of benefits offered to veterans and military members to support your needs
- Pay differential programs for Reservists or members of the National Guard (for qualifying deployments).
- Medical, behavioral health and wellness services for you and your family.
- Networking opportunities with our veteran employees and support agencies.
- The opportunity to continue making a difference for our country, here in your own community, with a career at Northwell.
Our programs
Translating military skills into career success.
You have valuable skills and experience. We’ll help you turn them into great civilian careers with our Barracks to Business workshops. These online and in-person workshops will help you understand the job search process, improve your resume writing and interviewing skills, and create a strategy to pursue civilian employment. You’ll also learn about our vast career opportunities and the benefits of joining us here at Northwell.
DiversityInc honored this innovative program that embraces military veteran employees and their families and provides mentoring to help veterans transition back into the civilian workforce. When you join VALOR as a Northwell Health employee, you’ll be with others who have served or currently serve in the U.S. military, have family members in the armed forces or have a special interest in military and veterans’ affairs.
With over a decade delivering exceptional services, our Office of Military and Veterans’ Liaison Services provides health and wellness resources for active military service members as well as veterans and their families. Being a veteran himself, our Director AVP, Juan Serrano understands and is committed to meeting the unique needs of military personnel and their families.
