Electrician
NSUH at Manhasset, Manhasset, NY
Performs senior Electrical functions throughout the facility.
Job Responsibility
- Executes electrical operations of the Engineering department; inspects and repairs faulty receptacles, switches, lighting fixtures, wiring and electrical equipment of any voltage up to and including 480 volt AC 3 ph.
- Assists with wiring of electrical systems for nurses call lights, code blue and intercoms; installs conduit and wiring for outlets, switches and lighting for patient room conversions.
- Performs new construction and alteration jobs within the Hospital; installs conduits, outlets, switches, lighting and electrical panels as per blueprint.
- Installs lighting fixtures, nurses call lights and exit lights in ceilings; installs outlets above and below new counter work; also any outlets, switches and lighting under new cabinet work.
- Installs conduits required in concrete slabs and any outlets, switches and lighting boxes in walls and ceilings; fabricates and installs temporary protection walls and partitions as specified; installs temporary lights and power in areas where needed.
- Carries out work orders as directed by Shop Foreman, requirements of their areas; i.e. general installing of outlets, switches, lighting fixtures; installs conduits and wire molds; performs emergency repairs.
- Replaces and repairs faulty outlets, switches, lighting, wiring, and electrical panels; performs any repairs considered emergency Assists in snow removal duty.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of tools such as hand and power; maintains and handles tools in a safe and proper manner.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of proper safe procedures for usage of the following tools such as power drills, portaband saws, hammer guns, hydraulic pipe benders, jigsaws, drill press and power wire pulling equipment.

Job Qualification
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $39.37-$43.06/hour
